A man in a dress, <br />A shock to the system at first sight. <br />He isn’t doing it for the show, <br />The cheers or the jeers, <br />No high heels in view, <br />Locked in the closet for years, <br />This is who she is. <br />When she steps out the door, <br />Children point and stare knowing no better, <br />She has heard it all before, <br />“Cock in a frock, freak, and queer! “ <br />Which she is certainly is not! <br />She tasted her blood. <br />She lost her blood, <br />Disowned by all she loved. <br />She was living a life of lies, <br />As the man she never was. <br />People laughed behind her back, <br />Making her more of a man than they'll ever be. <br />She’s true to herself. <br />So who are we to judge? <br />Living her life the way she was always meant to, <br />We should applaud her.<br /><br />Joseph Tanner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-man-in-a-dress/
