Me and the boys sat around the old wooden table <br />With a deck of cards, <br />Glasses of beer and a cool breeze. <br />We played gin while we told each other fable after fable <br />About women, <br />About mermaids deep in the Seven Seas. <br /> <br />The relaxed, gentle reggae ballads by Bob Marley <br />Caressed the air <br />From the radio on the shelf <br />And as we all took slow, long sips of our barley <br />We all felt an old freedom <br />That could not contain itself. <br /> <br />When the breeze calmed <br />And twilight began to beckon, <br />They went back to their wives, <br />All my partners in crime <br />And they said to me, 'Scotty, tomorrow we reckon <br />We'll be in the mood for another precious waste of time.'<br /><br />K.
