As I stood beside the wooden coffin
during the time of body viewing
I saw the face of my deceased friend frowning
a thought creeped into my mind
as I realised that, of all the dreams he shared with me
not even one of them was accomplished
it made me realise that:
some people have fumed their way out of this earth
without exposing the treasure hidden inside them
they have allowed the gigantic hands of obscurity
to tightly grasp the treasure inside
with fear casting its shadow on them
one way that loosens the grip of obscurity is when
we're pressed on every side and
the reflex action produced will expose the treasure inside
my friend here had succumbed to pressure therefore
the hidden treasure was not exposed

Itai Oscar

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-lesson-from-a-dead-man/
