On life’s journey I take my steps <br />Thinking of where I am going <br />Taking a left then a right <br />My weariness is growing <br /> <br />I hear the waves a crashing <br />As I walk along the shore <br />Feeling sand under my feet <br />Each step becomes a chore <br /> <br />Looking at passing clouds <br />Watching them move about <br />My legs are getting heavy <br />With pain I want to shout <br /> <br />Just before I give up <br />I feel a presence near <br />Noticing footprints next to mine <br />It’s Jesus, He’s here <br /> <br />I continue on my journey <br />Leaving my footprints behind <br />His feet does leave impressions <br />A blink of an eye before mine <br /> <br />My stride is getting stronger <br />My purpose is becoming clear <br />Jesus says to rest now <br />And lay all burdens here<br /><br />Mark Farmer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/impressions-in-the-sand/
