I have always loved chicken houses <br />And have since I was a kid <br />Sometimes when I was in trouble <br />It was one place in which I hid <br /> <br />The gentle cluck cluck of the hens <br />As they squawked around the pen <br />Laying their eggs most every day <br />Oh how I loved those brown hens <br /> <br />But there is the other side of the story <br />After taking off the feathers and all <br />Chunks of chicken fried up so crisp <br />After those chickens took a fall <br /> <br />There are many wonderful restaurants <br />To find a delicious chicken meal <br />But I’ll tell you about one we found <br />This place was really a steal <br /> <br />“Welcome to Babe’s, ” the sign said <br />Oh, such a delicious scent in the air <br />Was just heavenly, my dear friend <br />Suddenly we didn’t have a care <br /> <br />So if you have a history with chickens <br />Or even if you only ate them for dinner <br />Take the time of enjoy like we did and vote <br />Babe’s Chicken Dinner House the winner!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/babe-s-chicken-dinner-house/
