Little Old Lady

My friend and I wonder off down this old dirt road
Not knowing where we were going
We came upon this little old house
There were cats and dogs every where
We walked upon the porch and knock upon the door.
we stood there for awhile then the door opened wide
There stood this little old lady in her 80s she was
smiling and said come on in you pretty little things
and have some milk and cookies we were scared but we went in
we ask her why she had so many cats and dogs she said thats
all I have left in my life I have no one to visit me
and they bring me so much joy
My friend and I wanted to help her out so we ask her
if we could feed and water the cats and dogs
She got a big grin on her face and said yes you pretty
little things you may help me out We were so proud
of what we did we ran all the way home to tell our mothers
Our mothers said we did a wonderful deed to help some one
in need
We went back the very next day only to find her on the
floor with a note in her hand and it said

Thank you my pertty little things
It time for me to go home
where I belong in Heavan
Im with God now
he'll take good care of me
Please do me one last favor
my pretty little things
fine a good home for my cats and dogs
Im signing off now May God bless you both
From your friend
the little old lady.

Shirley Hedrick

02/18/2007

shirley hedrick

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/little-old-lady/
