The blood that was spilled <br />The heart left unfilled, <br />The words that weren’t said, <br />And the one I left dead. <br /> <br />The hurt I endured, <br />The search for a cure, <br />The pain I inflicted, <br />The shame that dominated. <br /> <br />The darkness that stole all the light from my world, <br />The years that I spent trying to smooth pages that curled, <br />The days that I cried and wished it would all end, <br />The nights I spent alone trying to mend. <br /> <br />The silver embraced, <br />The heartbeats that raced, <br />The sadness that reigned, <br />The hands that were stained. <br /> <br />The wings that were torn, <br />When the future looked forlorn, <br />The love that was lost, <br />The price that meds cost. <br /> <br />The sadness and anger that occupied all my time, <br />The thoughts of death and pain that crossed through my mind, <br />The last bit of hope before I let go, <br />The what if’s and the maybe’s that I’d never know. <br /> <br />The secrets kept hidden, <br />The tears in my skin, <br />The person I misplaced, <br />The soul left displaced. <br /> <br />The aching within me, <br />The lock with no key, <br />The dying day by day, <br />The wasting away. <br /> <br />This part of my life took so much of me away, <br />This part of my life was longer than just a day, <br />I struggled and walked around pained deep inside, <br />But I wouldn’t take it back, not one tear that I cried, <br />For I learned to become who I am right at this moment, <br />From those three horrible years my mind was in a plummet.<br /><br />Emily E.
