I looked up at him and he turned away, <br />He said he had to go, but I wanted him to stay. <br />His skin was a golden brown, his hair was dark as night, <br />His eyes ocean blue, and then a second later he’d faded from sight. <br /> <br />Was this an Angel I’d just layed my eyes upon? <br /> <br />I kept him in my thought’s since that day he’d gone, <br />And prayed I’d see him again before too long. <br />Walking with friend’s, there he was in front of me, <br />I could not hold in my joy, his eyes seemed deeper blue this time, his hair darker and I saw him smile, my God he had the most beautiful smile. <br /> <br />I was in love with an Angel? <br /> <br />From that day on, he was always on my mind, <br />I started to see him more and more, and relished that he was one of a kind, <br />I was so in love, I’d never felt this before, <br />How could I stop love, I needed more. <br /> <br />The reason I cannot marry anyone else, is because I’m in love with you? <br /> <br />So I said how I felt and I thank God he felt the same, <br />And ever since that first day, he has never been far from my brain. <br />Making me still feel like I have an angel always next to me, <br />Making me feel safe and who I want to be. <br /> <br />This man is my knight in shining armour, he’s changed my life, <br />He’s made me a mother again, and made me his special wife. <br />Nothing in the world could make me as happy as I am today, <br />And I know from his heart now, that he’ll forever stay. <br />He’s in my arms forever, <br />And we’re living happily ever after.<br /><br />joanne fenner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-we-first-met-2/
