A HAVEN FOR TIME <br /> <br />God had created the great blue sky, <br />A safe haven for stars to rest and shine. <br />The milky way and the galaxies, <br />With safe havens and nooks, <br />for life to be! <br />But when it came to accommodating <br />Time, <br />He had kept our earth uppermost in mind! <br />For there he created the oceans, both <br /> tranquil and deep, <br />A haven for time to sink and sleep! <br />But the resting time, remains half-awake, <br />And makes the waves to roll and break! <br />Thus, since centuries and eons past, <br />Time found a safe haven in earth’s crust! <br /> <br />When time stretches and fully awakes, <br />It rolls and plays with the dancing waves. <br />Time loves to frolic, the froth, the fun, <br />It loves the surf, the sand and the sun ; - <br />Before it retreats, when the day is done! <br /> <br />It loves to weave changing patterns on the <br />sands of time, <br />Washing away our sand castles, we build <br />all the while! <br />For this is time’s most favorite game <br />of all, <br />To see men rise and men fall! <br />And when time gets tired and wants <br />to sleep, <br />It sinks into its bed, in oceans deep! <br /> <br /> -Raj Nandy <br /> New Delhi <br /> 02 July 07<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-haven-for-time/
