SICK POLITICS <br /> <br />The Ad in the papers read: - <br />'Wanted a skilled Healer, or a <br />Medical Man, <br />Who could cleanse and heal, <br />A nation gone totally sick, <br />With an overdose of sick politics! ' <br />To this, only one doctor had applied, <br />Who requested the Editor to define, <br />The term 'sick politics '! <br />The Editor then clarified, - <br />That this politics was an ancient art, <br />Of divide and rule, without letting the <br />nation unite! <br />Which was practised by some ganster- <br />politicians, <br />Who like headless chicken, without sense; <br />With narrow parochial minds, <br />Practised politics of a sectarian kind! <br />Where vested, or self interest prevailed, <br />With honesty and integrity in captivity <br />held! <br />While the nation could be burnt or grilled, <br />But their coffers must always be filled! <br /> <br />Having read the Editor's clarification, <br />The Doctor replied in utter desperation; - <br />'Sir, it is not a physician you should seek, <br />Or a diagnosis you all really need! <br />Remove a thorn with a thorn, <br />And grapple this sickness by the horn! <br />Just give those sick politicians the sack, <br />And call those Britishers, right back '! <br /> <br /> -Raj Nandy <br /> 20 Feb 08 <br /> <br />(Though written in a lighter vein and in haste, <br /> Many a true word is spoken in a jest!)<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sick-politics/
