MY DEDICATED STAR <br /> <br />An Astrophysicist once said, that there are <br />more stars in space and its outer reaches, <br />Than all the grains of sand on our beaches! <br />On earth so many people are born and so <br />many die, <br />I think that there are dedicated stars for every <br />soul in the sky! <br />I wonder which star will get dedicated to me? <br />In which constellation will that be? <br />Will that constellation hold a family? <br />Or will it be an assortment of stars for you <br />and me? <br />With such thoughts one night I had fallen <br />asleep; <br />And when the night had grown dark and deep, <br />I was transported in my dreams, though my <br />body lay fast asleep! <br />I dreamt that I had become a star with a <br />luminous glow, <br />Shedding my light on the earth below! <br />I was shining high up in celestial space, <br />Where I was destined to spend my heavenly <br />days! <br />But with the morning sunlight on my eyes, - <br />I bid my dream good by, and began to awake; <br />And found it was another dawn on earth, with <br />a new day break! <br /> <br /> - Raj Nandy <br /> New Delhi <br /> 25 Jun 08<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-dedicated-star/
