We want religion’s cap and gown <br />A shepherd’s crook in hand <br />Yet with God’s law we act the clown <br />And prance throughout the land <br /> <br />We want religion’s ornate ring <br />Its trinkets made of gold <br />A sermon sweet a song to sing <br />Leaving God less than cold <br /> <br />Let’s help instead those lost and down <br />Through He who Guides inside <br />Help one another gain life’s crown <br />And in God’s will abide <br /> <br />Forget each creed each church’s name <br />The titles you may hold <br />In Jesus’ eyes we’ all the same <br />God’s sheep within one fold <br /> <br />Lets all consider Jesus’ rule <br />Before He rose above <br />And let’s not play again the fool <br />But show The Way in love <br /> <br />We’re called as fellow servants here <br />To stand with Christ God’s Son <br />Teaching each other Godly fear <br />Until our time is done <br /> <br />Until another comes behind <br />Made faithful strong and true <br />Who’ll feed the sheep, assist mankind <br />To change their worldly view <br /> <br />We must renounce of self to shine <br />Give up each selfish way <br />Be grateful grafted in The Vine <br />Our Saviour to obey<br /><br />Michael P.
