I had a feeling that would not cease. <br />It crept over me and would not release. <br />Persistently poking like a nagging pest. <br />The irksome mood did not let me rest. <br /> <br />Later that day, as a passenger I traveled. <br />Suddenly my leisure became unraveled. <br />Proceeding into the path of on coming cars… <br />I shouted, 'Watch out! ' What fate was ours? <br /> <br />Urgent brake pressure was rapidly applied. <br />A perpendicular lane was open for a glide. <br />A potential crash vehicle cleared our fender. <br />Relieved, we realized our escape was slender. <br /> <br />We were all spared from a frightful disaster… <br />Was I able to warn because of the forecaster? <br />With prayerful thanks, we’ll see another dawn. <br />For some reason, my unsettling feeling is gone.<br /><br />Theresa Ann Moore<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/premonition-9/
