The morning sky is filled with promise <br />As I take steps to check on time lapse… <br />Seeing how much my tomato plants have <br />Heightened overnight…by inches perhaps <br /> <br />Calmly refreshing… cool and soothing… <br />A path of dew escorts my bare feet on the walk <br />Soles commune with submissive tender blades <br />Look at my pretties…their blooms are unlocked <br /> <br />Broad ribbed leaves approvingly protect <br />Providing shade that welcomes a new yield <br />Small green globes will plump and be palm size <br />Their blushing readiness will soon be revealed <br /> <br />My hopeful thoughts catch a whiff of <br />Toasted bread, lettuce and sliced tomato <br />I can smell crisp bacon …my mouth is watering <br />While I am imagining…don’t forget the mayo… <br /> <br />6/25/08<br /><br />Theresa Ann Moore<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/anticipation-28/
