The business of living, <br />Has laid cold eyes upon them <br />Grieving. <br />Those overtaxed, <br />And most undernourished! <br /> <br />Discouraged to speak truths, <br />That keep them crushed... <br />In silent desperation. <br />Under technologies, <br />Rushed to boost few <br />To adorn themselves, <br />And prosper. <br /> <br />This business of living... <br />Dispense trinkets from feasting banquets. <br />And dim is the light once brightening, <br />The hopes for all. <br />With gall the rotting stench is sensed, <br />And slowly released. <br />Progressing these diseasing deeds. <br /> <br />And bigoted shelters, <br />Built to be viewed... <br />By those with lofty wishes, <br />Crumble in defiance. <br />As appliances fail, <br />To keep from oxidizing rust. <br /> <br />Those investing in separate dreams... <br />Find no protectors, <br />To hide resources dwindling. <br />Masses split into divisions that absorb, <br />Assumptions no one resumes... <br />As this influence loses its spin!<br /><br />Lawrence S.
