All she feels is lost, <br />Scared of the world around her. <br />Asking questions is easy, <br />Hearing answers is harder. <br /> <br />She wants it all to stop, <br />The worries and regrets. <br />She’s told it’ll get better, <br />You really wanna bet? <br /> <br />She doesn’t no who to turn to, <br />Doesn’t know what to do. <br />She’s tried to fix this mess, <br />But fixing it takes two. <br /> <br />So she writes when she’s afraid, <br />Sometimes just to fill the time. <br />Though it’s hard to express her thoughts, <br />Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. <br /> <br />She hides and pretends, <br />And smiles when she should. <br />She just wants someone to cry to, <br />Then cry all day she would. <br /> <br />She’s angry, upset and hurting, <br />She just can't see an end; <br />To feeling like she’s all alone, <br />And smiles made of pretend.<br /><br />Hannah Jamieson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/smiles-made-of-pretend/
