Some nights I spend missing you, <br />Other I spend crying, <br />Wishing you could help me, <br />Help me, I am dying. <br />You've pulled me out of hell before, <br />Can you please try again, <br />You've always been so important to me, <br />We used to be best friends. <br /> <br />The day you died I died too, <br />I lost a part of my soul, <br />You were my solid ground, <br />when My life was out of control. <br />But I can hear your voice no more, <br />But every night I pray, <br />That you will hear my painful cries, <br />And that I will see you on my judgment day. <br /> <br />When I sit alone and think of you, <br />I can smell you in the air- <br />Its like you never left me, <br />Its like a part of you is still there. <br />But I know your not coming back, <br />No matter how much I may hope, <br />I just don't know how to stop this pain, <br />I don't know how to cope. <br /> <br />Sometimes I see you late at night, <br />Looking in my eyes, <br />I wonder if you feel me breaking, <br />Or if you just see my disguise. <br />I wonder why you went overseas, <br />Why you decided to go away, <br />I don't know why that Iraqi shot you, <br />And took your life away. <br /> <br />I guess I'll never know, <br />But you know I will try, <br />To understand and figure out, <br />Just why you had to die.<br /><br />Summer Sandercox<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-ll-never-understand-2/
