Soft motions of this pendulum reminds me of
pacing piano keys, strings touched to create a different frequency
let me hear this lull, this song, to the nth harmony

Let the bases pound, a steady drum line, let me sway
Liberate my hesitant fingers from these handle bars and let me fly
down asphalt, up moist lawns, green in their virgin stepford ways
Close these lids, coaxed shut by the wind. Let me risk the accident.

Give me the drink with the most dews still clinging on like they mean to
keep their surface tension. I will soak up each dropp gathered from dawn's arrival.
Tuck me under your plush sheets with that serenade. Your notes, they
stay long after I succumb to tonight's slumber. Your smile leaks onto the day's morrow.

Before we part, and you are leaving. We walk in opposite directions.
I will still hear your rhythmic footsteps for they tap on
my heartstrings
We stopped talking. You're still listening.
Your footsteps, they tap out
my lulla - bye.

Kim Dang

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lull-bye/
