Sitting on the Ledge
Looking down at the end
Looking back at the beginning

The beginning:
where it all began
When it all shattered
Oh but it seems so much better
Better than seeping over this Ledge

The end:
Where it all stops
When all pain is crushed
Oh this too seems better
Better than being on this Ledge

This Ledge:
Where I cry
Where nobody hears
When I cut open the pain
When nobody sees
Where I hide
Where nobody finds
Who I have become
Who nobody knows is me
What keeps me from all destruction
(the end)
And keeps me from going back
(the beginning)

So this Ledge I'm on
It holds me in place
Shall I plunge into darkness
Only to find everlasting hate
Or shall I hide in the past
Unforgiven and Unforgiving

No I shall wait
Wait for my angels
to carry me home
Home where all pain is gone
Where dark turns to light

And I may return to my love
And be one again

Meg Birt

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ledgendary/
