Oh Father <br />This is an ode to You <br />A song to Your heart <br />An offering of joy from an overflowing heart <br />Any song or expression of any kind <br />Does not dare draw equal to deserved praise, from man’s mind <br /> <br />I’m at a loss for words <br />To express the magnificence and grace <br />Your greatness to capture <br />How can I speak and utter mere words <br />Strained by the language of man <br />Trying to describe my love and admiration, <br />My adoration <br />My desire to fill all that I am with all that You are <br /> <br />Oh forgive my lackings drawing near to You <br /> <br />I desire to utter and proclaim <br />Your majesty so all-encompassingly plain <br />To feel the thrill of words <br />Emanate Your true glory from my love-confessing lips <br /> <br />How do I enter into more of You <br />And stay in a world devoid of You? <br />How do I contain the fullness of joy <br />Bursting out inside of me? <br />How do I stay humanly plain, <br />My expressing of You limited by what’s humanly sane? <br />How do I just contain the light <br />Bursting out by Your brilliance of might! <br /> <br />I seek and desire new words <br />Transcending the captures of language <br />That carries on mighty soaring waves <br />The true glory of a God who lovingly saves <br />A language of love perfected in praise <br />As the essence of You it mightily raise! <br /> <br />How can Your magnificence <br />Not be seen by a world by You created <br />How can they not help but proclaim <br />A God who out of love was so fated <br /> <br />My desire is for Your face <br />For the music from Your lips <br />Your voice echoing in my soul <br />Purification flowing as our faces meet <br />Come Lord now, <br />Let me blaze with Your face’s heat! <br /> <br />(2007-03-28)<br /><br />Francois Hoon<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/words-to-the-face-of-fire/
