Leaders? <br /> <br /> <br />We watched the lies regurgitate from our leaders mouths, <br />While their hands covered their hearts, <br />The twin towers gave birth to something more sinister and perverse, <br />Clouded by fiery and grief and while the revenge of the nation was at its manipulative peak, <br />This is where their strategy got deep, <br />Propaganda now blows up on our T.V screens, <br />What a devious, genius, distractions, <br />We somehow wanted to see Iraqi death’s plaguing Iraqi streets, <br />While staring into our T.V screens, <br />Media has us unfocused on the truth it now seem, <br />Revenge is now in our optics, <br />How could an operation of this size go unnoticed? <br />Until our leader’s came back, <br />Back into our public view, <br />Oil stained palms, <br />……….The realisation, <br />What did we go and do, <br />We backed lie’s and destroyed innocent Iraqi lives, <br />The truth died when the twin towers became ashes to the ground, <br />And souls blew around in the wrath Debary carried off by the wind, <br />You can still hear the souls screaming, <br />Loved one still grieve, <br />How foolishly we were all deceived, <br />Causing mass cultural deterioration across the sea’s, <br />An unforgivable racist segregation, <br />How their got us believing, <br />We back so many brutal killings, <br />Greed has been fed into the veins of these two willing nations, <br />We now know there is no measure on the lengths they are prepared to go to keep these two nations well above float, <br />But the bigger they are the hardeder they fall, <br />Theirs a price to pay when greed paves your way, <br />This oil has cast a dark cloud, <br />The integrity of these two nations knows no bounds, <br />We may as well of flown the plane’s ourselves, <br />The ripple effect is on its way, <br />We need to do more than pray.<br /><br />Stephanie Maseko<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/how-were-we-deceived/
