Oh what a night for a dream, <br />Seemingly, vividly, happily me, <br />a disguise of apathy <br /> <br />A fire in my heart, <br />Started by sweet loves retreat <br />And extinguished by empathy <br /> <br />I get lost in my mind and fly so high I don’t want to come down <br />To face this lost love, I once had found <br /> <br />I run and I run, through the dark of the night, <br />I hear echoes of my name, <br />Your voice distant but constant <br />Left with a heart never to be the same <br />Your heart was the heart of hearts, <br />I’ve now filled full of pain <br /> <br />So I sit and I smoke, <br />Sliding script pills to weaken the choke <br /> <br />So I run and I run, but, <br />Remember this, <br />Know it was you, who first had my heart, <br />But the demon within me was with me from the start <br /> <br />Now everything that has come and gone, <br />Has now come tumbling down on me, <br />My heart, my soul, my everything <br />Now so cold and feeling empty, empty, empty <br /> <br />Heart of hearts, once filled with love <br />I’ve now filled with pain, <br />Will I or do I, <br />Have the right to love again<br /><br />Daniel Richards<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/masquerade-2/
