In our world today, evil breeds <br />On so many levels <br />Young and old alike fall victim too <br />The tantalizing taste of dancing with the devil <br /> <br />He is in our hopes and in our dreams, <br />A peaceful heart no longer ours, <br />Dying slowly full of painful screams, <br />As the devil laughs <br />With one hand, our heart he grasps <br /> <br />We accept the pain as way of life <br />Making our days a turn of chance <br />So roll once more the lifeline dice <br />And it falls once more on the devils dance <br /> <br />We never learn or take head <br />From the steel of pain or from the tears we bleed <br />So we remain trapped, I for instance; <br />Within this darkened state <br /> <br />The skies above rumble and thunder, <br />Lighting flashes and lights the road on which we wander, <br />Searching but what for <br />To find the answer to what’s in store <br />For us all <br /> <br />Only to find our final call<br /><br />Daniel Richards<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/devilish-days/
