Venice <br />by clay4872© <br /> <br /> <br />Vivid was my dream of Venice, of gondolas rising, <br />and lowered gently by waves, glittering in predawn light.I was alone <br />adrift on <br />mentally turbulent seas, as I walked along the realto smells of <br />saltwater on the <br />cool misty air, i pondered am I deserving of love.laughter not my <br />own, tauntingly filled an empty corridor somewhere off in the <br />distance.alive, yes <br />but for so long I wouldn't, couldn't allow myself to take pleasure <br />from artistic <br />works, or poets words, which seemed contrite, forced, songs once sweet, <br />sounded grating to my ears, was this self torture my ascetic <br />indifference to the <br />world? as an artist, musician, poet, I'm but a tool a medium, I felt <br />empty, a blank <br />canvas awaiting attention.My emotions dull, void, until I turned the <br />corner, there <br />you were, my muse, my life mimics the ebb and flow of tides.I must <br />capture, harness, no still to harsh a word, accept graciously as gift <br />fleeting <br />moments, when I hurriedly, eagerly, carnivorously, feel the urgency to <br />convey <br />my love of life.I was not alone in the most romantic city in <br />Europe, after all, as <br />we clasped hands my soul soared high with renewal of love.I realized <br />through <br />one another we glimpse pieces of ourselves, within my chest beats a <br />fragment <br />of my heart the remainder resides with you, I visit as often as I <br />can, knowing <br />you take great care of it when I'm gone.I awoke that night, your <br />angelic face <br />bathed in moonlight, suddenly you woke as if sensing me watching <br />you, as a <br />smile of contentment broke upon your lips, you kissed me tenderly. <br />I see you in all the worlds wonders, for this is what you are a <br />sumptuous <br />delicate melody uplifting to my spirit, a great source of <br />inspiration.my love <br />thank you for awakening a part of myself which I repressed for <br />so long, together we'll give our relationship the nourishment it needs <br />to <br />flourish, grow.<br /><br />clay perry<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/venice-4/
