As I sit and look out my window <br />I watch as the hummingbirds <br />Swarm my tempting bird feeder <br />I’m captivated beyond words <br /> <br />For while this is taking place <br />Ever softly the rains will come <br />It’s a sight that warms my heart <br />The gentle showers and sweet hum <br /> <br />This time of year is my favorite <br />As nature makes a change <br />It takes place so subtly <br />The wild seems to turn tame <br /> <br />The flowers are just beginning <br />A lovely scent now fills the air <br />Mother Nature seems to prove <br />With her beauty she wants to share <br /> <br />Though we still may be having storms <br />And we wish they would refrain <br />At times we can enjoy <br />The warm gentle spring rains!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/spring-rains/
