It’s a little town in Oklahoma <br />Lookeba is the name <br />Like any other town except <br />It has a different kind of fame <br /> <br />For folks don’t pronounce it <br />The way it’s meant to be <br />So many ways to say it <br />Not always obvious, you see <br /> <br />But maybe it doesn’t matter <br />More important, I believe <br />When you drive around <br />So much history you receive <br /> <br />Old homesteads make me smile <br />Families raised their families <br />Grew a garden, had animals <br />A hammock between the trees <br /> <br />A lazy country town it is <br />Friendly when you pass through <br />Just getting by the best they can <br />Pretty much like me and you <br /> <br />So no matter how it’s pronounced <br />It will always be the same <br />A sweet little ‘ole country town <br />So really, what’s in a name?<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-s-in-a-name-15/
