They try so very hard you know <br />To capture what they sought <br />To be if they could be someone <br />That they obviously are not. <br /> <br />They think about it for months on end <br />“I will be a monster, ” Sammy said <br />An ugly mask he perches <br />Upon his adorable childish head. <br /> <br />An angel little Serena became <br />Golden wings upon her back <br />A gentle smile upon her face <br />Carrying her festive Halloween sack. <br /> <br />Alek is a frightening werewolf <br />He always picks the one <br />He will not see upon the street <br />That makes it so much fun. <br /> <br />He collects so much candy that <br />Dad says, “Don’t eat it all! ” <br />He starts thinking what he will be <br />As soon as the season turns into fall. <br /> <br />Oh look, little Kayla is a butterfly <br />She’s pink and cute as can be <br />It’s obvious she is having fun <br />For her hand is filled with candy. <br /> <br />They tromp through colorful leaves <br />As down the street they go <br />Giggling and having tremendous fun <br />With a loving parent often in tow. <br /> <br />Enjoy these Halloween Munchkins <br />They are a joy to watch each year <br />Ask God to keep them safe as well <br />They are precious and so very dear!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/halloween-munchkins/
