I walk a steady path <br />One without numbers or time <br />Yet I face the wrath <br />Of the wind blowing on my face <br /> <br />With scorpian stings and dusty wind <br />I walk a path where I never win <br />Maybe it's because I already have everything I've wanted <br /> <br />I've torn off my sleeves <br />A sign of my regret <br />I face this sunburnt winter <br />With the cold in my chest <br /> <br />I've reached the top and despite my eyes <br />I know in my heart I've never been better than this <br />Yet my mind runs dry and I have no idea why <br />but it's so hard for me to write this down <br /> <br />Inspiration seems like a thing of the past <br />Fading, but I know it will forever last <br />Love cannot be torn from a heart like mine <br />but it's my inspiration that I must find <br /> <br />I guess it all started when I wanted to write the perfect words for you <br />but the sad thing is all the best words have been taken <br />I wanted to write something new, something just for you <br />but I couldn't wait for my inspiration to awaken <br /> <br />I love you more with each beat of my bleeding heart <br />The thing is, this is only the start and you feel like home <br />Which is something I've never known but it feels so right <br />at night when I lay in my bed, only dreaming of you. <br /> <br />So while the words may not ignite your love <br />This is just a part of what I'm trying to say <br />The words couldn't fit but it goes somthing like this <br />I'll love you for as long as I exist.<br /><br />Moth Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-re-inspiration/
