Last Breath Of A Dying Heart <br /> <br />Oh how I yearn to kiss your lips <br />Oh how I hunger to love you. <br />I want to hold you in my arms <br />I want to caress your body all night. <br />I want to make love to you one last time. <br /> <br />The aching of this broken heart <br />is not just dying from old age <br />Instead, exploding inside-out <br />with love to give. <br />Wanting to share love <br />Wanting to keep giving. <br />Wanting to keep loving and keep living. <br /> <br />Why does love die? <br />Why must a Mid-life crisis happen? <br />How do you move on <br />When there is no-one to move on with? <br /> <br />We try to surround ourselves <br />with people we love <br />But the instant we leave them <br />we fall right back into loneliness. <br />Leaving us...Breathless....Limp and broken. <br /> <br />I want to love again, I want to live. <br />I am tired of crying. <br />I've cried an ocean of tears <br />and the one thing I fear <br />Is that soon I will pass <br />alone all alone. <br /> <br />I want to live again I want to love <br />I want to caress someone <br />all through the night. <br />I have been kicked around <br />Been down long enough <br />Life can't go on without love. <br /> <br />Love is like oxygen that keeps us alive <br />Without love..a broken heart dies. <br />Perhaps one day this broken heart mends <br />but what do I do until then? <br /> <br />I will inhale once again <br />If only I could breathe. <br />This is the last breath <br />of a dying heart.<br /><br />Ronald Kerst<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/last-breath-of-a-dying-heart-2/
