If I say I love you, then I really mean I do, <br />And as I look you face to face, you must believe it’s true. <br />When I try to talk to you, it really is quite funny, <br />I get the strangest feeling in the bottom of my tummy. <br />When I see you doing stuff, I just stand back and stare, <br />But it hurts me every time when I know that you don’t care. <br />The colours of your eyes are the deepest shade of green, <br />They truly are the most gorgeous eyes that I have ever seen. <br />I try my best to show off to you, but you just look away, <br />As I see your dark tanned neck, I hope this is the day. <br />You go and talk to other girls; it gets me quite upset, <br />So I try to make you jealous about the other guys I’ve met. <br />The brightness of the sun cannot match your beaming face, <br />The only thing I think of is your soft and warm embrace. <br />I love the way you spike your hair, and kick that big football, <br />Staring at the phone all night, hoping you would call. <br />Your voice is as soft as the sky is blue, <br />If you said one word to me, I would say ‘thank you’. <br />I’m not the prettiest girl you know, or will ever see, <br />But if you got to know me, you may disagree. <br />As I see you running on that great big running track, <br />I really know I love you, but you don’t love me back.<br /><br />Brooke Rose<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-don-t-love-me-back/
