Period pains. <br /> <br />I hate ‘em. <br /> <br />Period. <br /> <br />The pain telegrams me: <br /> <br />“Hey there cutie.Stop. Me again. Stop. <br />Won’t stop. Stop. Love. Stop. Mr. Pain! ” <br /> <br />“Stop! ” <br />I scream. <br /> <br />“Even my ouch <br />said Ouch! ” <br /> <br />I smile quoting one <br />of his lines. <br /> <br />He makes me <br />a hot water bottle <br /> <br />but even that <br />(usually does the trick) <br />... doesn’t do the trick! <br /> <br />I whimper <br />sob quietly <br />(so I think) <br />want to wail. <br /> <br />E-mail Helen. <br /> <br />Complain to my male <br />about it being unknown to his sex. <br /> <br />“You lucky lucky...bleeder... <br />...lucky you...don’t have to...go ‘thru <br />this bloody thing! ” <br /> <br />He kisses <br />my belly <br /> <br />crying ‘cos <br />I’m hurting. <br /> <br />His tears <br />splash into my navel. <br /> <br />He puts <br />his lips <br />around it <br />blows upon it. <br /> <br />His loving breath <br />warm on my tummy <br /> <br />then keeping up <br />the sucking/blowing <br />action <br /> <br />He moves from section <br />to section <br /> <br />of my cramping belly. <br /> <br />It unties the knot <br />Pain tied me up in. <br /> <br />I laugh <br />run my fingers through his curls. <br /> <br />“You look like those sucker fish <br />that attach themselves to sharks <br />to clean them” <br /> <br />“Mmmm! ” <br />He says. <br /> <br />I moan. <br /> <br />Half in pleasure – half in pain. <br /> <br />Enjoying our <br />symbiotic relationship. <br /> <br />He keeps it up <br />‘til he’s blue in the face <br />...’til I fall asleep <br /> <br />Drifting free from pain <br />...into dreams...of him...him... <br /> <br />...his kisses...his kindness... <br /> <br />his the warm breath of love <br /> <br />taming my pain.<br /><br />Dee Wright<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/thank-you-for-keeping-it-up/
