This journey grows now to its end, <br />As road reflections lined in chrome <br />Give way to roads with greater bend <br />And empty signs that still pretend. <br /> <br />Nothing is strong as gentleness. <br />Nothing is gentle as real strength <br />Faith is not contrary to the usual ideas, <br />something that turns out to be right or wrong, <br /> <br />For even home, it seems to me, <br />Is still a choice we all must face <br />From day to day and endlessly, <br />To choose if home is going to be <br />Another road - or just a place. <br /> <br />like a gambler's bet: it's an act, <br />an intention, a project, something <br />that makes you, in leaping into the future, <br />go so far, far ahead that you shoot <br />clean out of time and right into <br />Give way to roads with greater bend <br />They point the way to home sweet home. <br /> <br />This journey grows now Eternity, <br />which is not the end of time <br />or a whole lot of time or unending time <br />, but timelessness, the old Eternal Now.<br /><br />Mary Wismer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-road-of-reflections/
