Shining black eyes <br />Peering at me in the dark <br />I am in a new house <br />Fear descends on me <br />In huge tsunami like waves <br /> <br />It is pitch black in the room <br />I am really paralysed <br />Too afraid to reach out <br />And switch on the night light <br />I shut my eyes tight <br /> <br />I send up a prayer <br />May God make my torturer <br />Disappear quietly even before <br />The next wave of fear hits me <br />I wait a few more seconds in hope <br /> <br />I finally open my eyes <br />Relying on the power of prayer <br />Black eyes is gone <br />A feeling of sheer relief <br />Descends over me, I can relax <br /> <br />But no, as I turn around <br />Black eyes is on my bed <br />Very near my head <br />I cannot even scream <br />Dear God what is happening <br /> <br />Its time to do something <br />There is no choice <br />I am alone in this house <br />I jump out of bed screaming <br />Turn on the lights quickly <br /> <br />The door bell is ringing <br />My terrified neighbours look on <br />Black eyes has disappeared <br />I have no explanation <br />Maybe it was only a bad dream! ! !<br /><br />Sandra Martyres<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/shining-black-eyes/
