Streaming red eyes <br />He did ask the whys <br />But she didn't answer <br />His fury grew like cancer <br /> <br />Soon she shrivelled up <br />Refusing even the tea cup <br />Something that she liked <br />She feared it was spiked <br /> <br />He finally abandoned her <br />Her family had to rescue her <br />They had no real choice <br />She required medical advice <br /> <br />Some years passed by <br />She would often cry <br />But never uttered a word <br />Her voice was not heard <br /> <br />Then came her final day <br />They had watched her pray <br />Before lying down in bed <br />Later she was found dead <br /> <br />Under the bed covers <br />Lay a letter from her lover <br />Where he made it very clear <br />That his wife was still dear <br /> <br />NB; A story of a young woman forced to marry an old man.
