A knife lies in my hand <br />It’s a tragedy waiting to happen. <br /> <br />My heart is racing <br />And my forehead is sweating <br />My eyes are tearing up <br />As I get myself ready. <br /> <br />My hands are shaking <br />I know it’s time to get it over with <br />Tears come flying out <br />As I cut away the sorrow and depression. <br /> <br />The blood flows out <br />I feel relief but shame. <br /> <br />I watch it all go out <br />I set down the knife <br />I fall to the ground and cry <br />But yet, I’m happy now. <br /> <br />I’m breaking down <br />And these scars are what tell my story.<br /><br />Kelsey Joe<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/scars-are-the-memories/
