Silver lights glow on dark streets <br />where ghostly shadows loom and voices echo. <br />Three moons rise across the sky, <br />they shine on the planet below. <br /> <br />Huge halos glimmer and dim <br />as tall beings shuffle back and forth, <br />their pale skin and light fluorescent eyes <br />luminous and strangely alien. <br /> <br />Now there's a low grumbling <br />as a Geiki tribe moves underground <br />to find new homes, new spaces <br />as two suns slowly rise. <br /> <br />One is in the East, the other in the west <br />and as the planet revolves <br />a face peers down from high <br />out of a crimson spaceship <br /> <br />It is Romeo searching the cosmos <br />for his Juliet but she's gone shopping <br />stopping by for a cup of tea, <br />then off to buy some frocks.<br /><br />Ruth Walters<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/alien-romance/
