on these dark cloudy days <br />I sit and think about life <br />but try not to think about <br />all the could have beens <br />it tears me apart to think <br />that we could have been <br /> <br />we could have been something <br />something meaningful and expressive <br />something that caused <br />shock and awe in others <br />sheer beauty does that to people <br /> <br />we could have loved so much that <br />others would wonder if we <br />were even human <br />there could have been so much between us <br /> <br />but you just had to walk away <br />walk away from me <br />from us <br />with my broken heart in your hand <br />and my love <br />(so useless) <br />under each echoing footfall <br /> <br />but then I have to remind myself <br />that I can't look at all <br />the could have beens <br />because they may come to mean <br />more to me than you ever meant<br /><br />The Dreamers Movement<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/untitled-538/
