A politician's head swelled <br />and burst out of a televising screen, <br />crashing onto the floor of my room, <br />rolling to my feet, where it lay, <br />face up, a grin glued on like a photo <br />of a keyboard, eyes fixed wide open, <br />genderless features painted <br />with studio-makeup, hair <br />formed like fine-spun fiberglass, <br />forehead shining like porcelain. <br /> <br />I howled, jumped up, ran <br />out the door into the street, <br />where everyone wore masks <br />that looked like the face on <br />the floor of the room I'd fled. <br />'We're all going to vote!
