Sometime ago, behind the mountain there yonder
A man had a farmhouse in that beautiful dale
Where lived many animals above ground and under
And in a pond there, ducks did sail

There also lived a pair of a dear and a doe
Which was deeply in love like the sand and the sea
Like poles of magnet together they came and will go
'Let us die together O Being' their only plea

They played, ran, hopped and yelled together
O! It was ecstacy of love and happiness in full glee
While deer seemed Cupid's disciple Viola teaching the other
Both learnt the same lesson'Life? Nay not sans thee.'

God, but seemed, didn't hear their plea
Hounds attacked! All but doe were locked inside
Her lover ran, bumped, yelled but could only see
Hounds tearing his life while he was dying inside

The faltering pendulum stopped and she left him alone
No! That won't be the end, He decided 'Not sans thee'
He racked himself with fence and wall, others did only moan
Adamantly he yelled'Not a breathe, no heartbeat, no life sans thee'

His every dropp of blood, had an urge to die
O! It was madness of love and sadness in full glee
Blinded, he jumped into coaltar, got stuck upto his thigh
Stretched and tore himself apart 'Life? Nay not sans thee'

this is a true story....my mother told me......she saw it all as a kid
after the doe the deer couldn't be kept he broke all with which he was tied......and hopped in madness till it was locked in a store room...ther 2 it hopped itself and got into a coaltar pot and stretched and tore itself apart.....(coaltar is spread on road to bind the the mortar materials....its black and sticky gives a smooth surface to the road)

Anjali Mandokhot

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/life-nay-not-sans-thee/
