I can make a silly rhyme <br />Almost any old time <br />For a nickel or a dime <br />Or a vodka with a lime. <br />I should have been a mime <br />With a face of whitish grime <br />Doing pantomime <br />And lead a life of crime <br />And end up doing time <br />In my single lifetime <br />Or doing overtime <br />In the good old summertime <br />Swinging on a vine <br />While playing ragtime <br />In the meantime <br />Slipping in the slime <br />Just before bedtime. <br /> <br />For I'm a rhyming fool <br />From Liverpool <br />Sitting on a toadstool <br />In Sunday school <br />Playing April fool <br />Like a big whirlpool <br />Causing me to drool <br />In my swimming pool <br /> <br />Does any of this make sense <br />Or is it just impertinence <br />A bit of nonsense <br />And some fraudulence <br />Or maybe flatulence. <br />Probably incompetence <br />To test your intelligence <br />And beg your sufferance. <br />So in all reverence <br />Please excuse my senescence <br />And this excresence!<br /><br />George Hunter<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rhyming-nonsense/
