The skies ever-changing the colours now blend, <br />As sunlight is falling the day at an end, <br />It shimmers on wave tops a path lies before, <br />That leads over water and rests on the shore. <br /> <br />While moving and swirling the clouds lit with gold, <br />A cascading collage does slowly unfold, <br />As skies turn to scarlet like embers of fire, <br />That glow in the hearth of all heaven's desire. <br /> <br />Then deeper and deeper to crimson they fade, <br />So gently they drift as new pictures are made, <br />While doused by the fall and the breeze blowing too, <br />They sink to the land and this ocean of blue. <br /> <br />As darkness approaches and moon starts to rise, <br />The sea turns to violet so restless it lies, <br />While shining so softly the stars now appear, <br />Like diamonds above as the clouds start to clear.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-skies-ever-changing/
