The speedwell and daisies are blooming together <br />Their colours entwine in the grass where they grow, <br />So rich is the land and so verdant the pasture <br />As a carpet they make with sweet patterns that glow, <br />Like the blue of the sky and the bright golden sunshine <br />They rise from the green on this bright summer's day, <br />Wherever they shine I'll be happy to wander <br />For I'll never tire of their wondrous display. <br /> <br />The speedwell and daisies are blooming together <br />They dance in the breeze of the morning so fair, <br />The songbirds are singing in hedges and woodland <br />As the scent of the flowers does drift through the air, <br />Like the blue of the sky and the bright golden sunshine <br />I see them in meadows, I see them in dreams, <br />I'll head on that course to wherever they take me <br />Winding my way like the rivers and streams. <br /> <br /> <br />The speedwell and daisies are blooming together <br />They're blending as one in the hues of the morn, <br />I'll follow the thread through the land they are weaving <br />And casting their spell as the new day is born. <br />Like the blue of the sky and the white golden sunshine <br />They rise from the green on this bright summer's morn, <br />Wherever they shine I'll be happy to wander <br />For I'll never tire of their wondrous display.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/speedwell-and-daisies/
