o’ good to see you tonight <br />here to watch ballet <br />nah just my ballerina <br />quite a feast for the eyes <br />for your eyes might be <br />but surely for my heart <br /> <br />to the tune of my throbbing heart <br />she was dancing ballet all that night <br />she bent and swayed <br />bowed and swept <br />stood on her pointe <br />and walked towards me <br /> <br />she belonged to a prince <br />who never knew <br />what her heart wants <br />she turned her back <br />on my heart <br />opted the fort <br />and incarcerated for life <br /> <br />my eyes could see <br />my heart could feel <br />my soul could mingle <br />my body could stir <br />she walked on her pointe <br />straight towards me <br />pierced my heart <br />slashed my soul <br />held me in her arms <br />and asked for a dance <br />i know not how to dance <br />ballerina <br />i am a foolish-unaccustomed doctor <br />and sometimes an emotional poet <br />never mind that doc <br />i show you how to dance <br /> <br />we spent that night dancing ballet <br />in the morning she cried her heart <br />each single tear had a name of me <br />she told me, she can’t be mine <br />though she was born only for me <br />she had to live against her will <br />she departed in silence <br />with my heart beating in her bosom <br />and left something for me at the door <br />a pair of her worn pointe shoes <br /> <br /> <br />Oct 15,2009<br /><br />Dr Kamran Haider Bukhari<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ballet/
