When two people <br />Profess their love <br />And decide to <br />Unite in a sacred bond, <br /> <br />I t is an unwritten contract; <br />We will be a witness <br />To one another’s lives, <br />It will not go unnoticed. <br /> <br />You will get your space <br />And I mine, <br />We will be together <br />But follow our hearts. <br /> <br />We may take off the mask, <br />That we wear before the world. <br />But we will have the trust, <br />We will not think less of each other. <br /> <br />If one of us decides, <br />To bare his soul, <br />We can do so with faith <br />That we will not be judged. <br /> <br />At times we may <br />Have some secrets, <br />We are not ready <br />To share. <br /> <br />But we will give space, <br />And wait <br />And not feel <br />Insecure and scared. <br /> <br />The fact <br />That we have chosen <br />One another <br />To spend <br />The rest of our lives with, <br /> <br />Gives calm reassurance, <br />And takes away the feverishness <br />And insecurities. <br />Leaving the mind at peace.<br /><br />Mamta Agarwal<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sacred-bond/
