Staring out my window, <br />Safe here from the rain <br />Sitting on my bed. <br />Never safe from the pain. <br />Holding myself together <br />My arms, they wrap my waitst. <br />Wondering if it's worth it <br />Have my feelings gone to waste? <br />Hoping that it's worth it <br />Remember our first kiss? <br />Hoping you remember <br />Please do not forget this. <br />Wanting you to see <br />I am dying behind the smile. <br />Wanting you to know <br />This hasn't happened in a while. <br />Wishing you would call <br />Telling me how you care <br />Wondering when you will <br />Knowing you aren't there. <br />Scared that something is wrong. <br />Hoping you will tell me. <br />Wondering where you go to. <br />Wishing you could see me. <br />Running through the rain. <br />I'm crying but you don't know. <br />Screaming and confused. <br />I don't know where to go. <br />Knowing where I'll end up. <br />It happens without me knowing. <br />No matter what you will find me. <br />Cause you know where I'm going. <br />I know this cause you listen. <br />You may never see, but you know. <br />When I'm like this I am lost. <br />But the 'safe place' is where I go. <br />Sitting on the playground <br />Fighting to see through the tears. <br />Hanging on for dear life. <br />Facing all my deepest fears. <br />Deciding that I'm happy <br />Smiling through the pain. <br />Moving past the problems <br />I'll walk home in the rain. <br /> <br /> <br />(January 3,2008)<br /><br />Temperance Joy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/safe-place-2/
