Why do we have to live our lives in fear <br />And sense danger to us is ever near <br />And stay indoors after the sun go down <br />And feel too scared to walk the streets of town? . <br /> <br />Why do we have to live most of our life <br />In fear of those who live by gun and knife <br />And suffer in silence in the face of crime? <br />We must speak out and now ought be the time. <br /> <br />To every bad one there are many who <br />Would never even think of harming you <br />If we live in silence with fear we've lost the fight <br />So the time has come for the good to unite. <br /> <br />An evil minority has taken from us the right <br />Of leaving our homes untouched by fear at night <br />So the time has come to make our feelings clear <br />And speak against all those who live by fear.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/why-do-we-have-to-live-in-fear/
