I heard our song tonight <br />it was like in a movie when the music kicks in and the scene is just right <br />I was just standing there pumping gas <br />and the music brought up memories from the past. <br />I pictured you standing there smiling at me, <br />then we were side bye side, we were who we use to be. <br />I smiled at the thoughts that were running through my head, <br />and my next thought was of us just laying in our bed. <br />Your head on my chest, and my arms around you, <br />not a worrie in the world, nothing we couldnt get through. <br />The way you smiled at me putting on your make up in the mirror, <br />we were ment to be, that i could see, and it couldnt get much clearer. <br />The warmth that i felt grow inside of my body, still listening to the music playing, <br />Reminded me of how i felt with you-when we were still dating. <br />But then there was this pain growing in my chest, <br />and the more i thought about you, the more it progressed. <br />How can you give someone everything and they just walk away? <br />I dont know whats worse, saying goodbye, or those mind games you played. <br />This is the girl that i would have done anything for, <br />but none of that matters anymore. <br />I did everything i could to make and to keep her happy.. <br />Then the pump clicked and brought me back into reality. <br />The pain that song brought, i couldnt belive. <br />I hung up the pump and stood there debating on... <br />If i should listen to the rest of the song. <br />As much as it hurt me, I just got in my truck and moved on.<br /><br />Autumn Keele<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/our-song-17/
