Young people in the Village swimming pool <br />Their laughter carrying in the freshening breeze <br />On such a warm and a humid day <br />A high tis said of 34 degrees. <br /> <br />The very warm weather some enjoy <br />And like they say youth has to have it's fling <br />Their sense of joy they vocally express <br />The gift of laughter is a marvellous thing. <br /> <br />Young people in the Springtime of their lives <br />They've found a pleasant way of keeping cool <br />Their sheer enjoyment in their laughter ring <br />As they splash and dive in the local swimming pool. <br /> <br />At two o clock on a warm afternoon <br />I hear them laughing in the pool nearby, <br />Young sparrows of their parents beg for food <br />And not a rain cloud in the clear blue sky.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/young-people-2/
