The area around his right eye it looks rather swollen and red <br />Such damage one does not get on leaving their bed <br />His eye by the swelling it has been shut tight <br />And he does look indeed quite a horrible sight. <br /> <br />Involved in another brawl at his Local last night <br />But he quickly went down from a left and a right <br />Flattened on the floor of his Local bar <br />To find one better than him he did not travel far. <br /> <br />A previous bar brawl victory had gone to his head <br />But there's always one better and it ought to be said <br />That he got his come uppance from one shorter than he <br />And for the humbled bully not much sympathy. <br /> <br />It just took two hard punches just that and nothing more <br />And he ended up on his back on the floor <br />He picked a fight with the wrong man one he did not know <br />The fellow much smaller won by the k o. <br /> <br />Such things seldom happen to those who are nice <br />And for his rowdy behaviour he has paid the price <br />And since on our behaviour we all have a choice <br />The next time before brawling he will think twice.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/he-has-paid-the-price/
