If I was like the tide <br />There would be no place to hide <br />Sliding in and slipping out over and over again <br />And if I was a wave <br />I’d be taking more than I gave <br />Rushing in and crashing in over and over again <br />The sun sinks into the horizon <br />Turning the sea a coral red <br />The sandy shore turns cool at my feet <br />Stars start to sprinkle the sky overhead <br />The roar of the ocean <br />Can put silence in your soul <br />Close your eyes <br />And let the night take control <br />Like a lost ship at sea <br />That doesn’t know where to turn <br />You are a mystery to me <br />A lesson in love I have yet to learn <br />If I was like the ocean breeze <br />Stop and start as I please <br />Blowing in your face over and over again <br />And if I was a crescent moon <br />I’d make every lover swoon <br />Joining heart and soul over and over again <br />As darkness engulfs me <br />A silent fog wraps itself around me <br />Misty memories of you <br />Rush in like the tide to astound me<br /><br />Alfred Ramos<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/if-i-was-like-the-tide/
